WOLFRAM WICKERT …

… was born in Shanghai/China in 1953, hence his rascals (midiaval slit ears). He grew up in Heidelberg and Paris and studied in England, among other places. He has alternately worked artistically or in the public service; similar to his father Erwin Wickert, China ambassador and author, or his brother, ex-anchorman Ulrich Wickert and now a crime writer.

He worked for five years at the German Embassy in New Delhi/India and wrote political analyzes for the Federal Chancellors Helmut Schmidt and Helmut Kohl. In 1990, before reunification, the Kohl government sent him to the GDR government as an advisor. He then worked as office manager and press spokesman for the Brandenburg Minister of Agriculture. In 1999 he was government spokesman for the EU and world economic summits (Berlin/Bonn).

Chancler Konrad Adenauer is his great-uncle.

He is an author and painter: in 1979 he published the novel "Hexentreiben/Witch hunt", in 1981 political caricatures, the "Bonner Bilderbogen/picture sheet" and in 2005 the novel "Equinox", a family saga. From 2007 to 2010 he had a studio in Beijing. He exhibits in Beijing, Seoul, New Delhi and Germany. He has won several awards at the Calligraphy Museum/Seoul. In 2011/12 he lived with his wife in New Delhi and painted a series “Indian Impressions”.

He has been living and painting in Berlin since 1998: cultural-historical landscapes, abstract, new POP ART and Chinese ink painting. He uses a rare Lazure technique: thin layers of paint superimposed, colors running into each other. He draws his paintings using his stage name Lao Lang, 老狼 (old, venerable wolf).

He married: Victoria zur Lippe/Detmold (children: Alexander and Roderik; Myriam von Loe/ (Anna and Constantin), Katharina Graf (Leonard)
