Glienicke Bridge, fresh color over rost of the past (II and III)

Glienicker Brücke, frische Farbe über Rost der Geschichte (II und III)

The Glienicke Bridge, a symbol of the “cold war”, is situated in a cultural historical Potsdam landscape, willingly called “Arcadia”, which reflects early liberal thoughts in Europe. A common cultural initiative of Potsdam, St.Petersburg and Milan intends now, also to restore the baroque gardens of the Great Elector. The twin paintings should manifest this. Inspite of the civilized surroundings the Glienicke Bridge remains us a memorial. Even if we repaint it, we will not whitewash the “rost” of the past.
